ROMAN AND MELANIE WITH THE GIRLS

Update, April 10, 2002

Melanie's pregnancy was a tough one. She had morning sickness very bad through the entire first trimester and still had it off and on for some time past that. But, finally it is over. Julianna Frances was born on Feb. 17, 1998. She was a big girl weighing over 9 pounds at birth. I was with Melanie through the entire labor and delivery. I helped her through 3 hours of hard pushing. I am so proud to be a grandmother!
Julianna is proof that there is life after abuse!

So here we are now, going into the year 2000, Julianna is growing like a weed, she is a toddler now, beautiful as ever. Living in Texas, I don't get to see her as often as I would like to, but we do get to stay in touch and Melanie does send pictures! Melanie has her good days and her bad days. After having Julianna, she became very protective of her. I understand why. At times Melanie would become very depressed. She is much better now. We talk often and I forward her your letters of support. That helps more than I can say. Melanie is doing very well. I am very proud of her accomplishments and the wonderful mother she is. Julianna is a very lucky girl. And now we have a new addition. Sophie is here!
Yes that is right Julianna has a little sister. Sophie was born Febuary 1, 2001, this was a much easier pregnancy for Melanie. She is a wonderful mother to the girls. Can you tell I am proud?
